I went rollin, rollin, rollin, rollin, rollin down the hill
to the river where I was cleansed at birth
as I stumbled to my feet so dizzy almost ill
I stood one foot in the crystal waters, one in the muddy earth
to the east I saw the town that bore me turning grey
to the west I saw a man silhouetted by the falling sun
the waters got so angry, I jumped in to try and escape
and ever since that day, I've been on the run

and if you see me runnin

before mine's burnt out

I went rollin down this old hill

rolled across that river bed, and I rolled on home
